One Month and One Day
It's been a month since I started this new semi-fasting.
Here's what I know, so far:
1. It's much easier after the 2nd week. Most days, I barely feel the difference that I'm fasting, even when I work out in the morning! In the beginning, I was concerned about brain-drain, weakness, cravings, etc. but that seems to have re-balanced by now. Out of an abundance of caution, I aim to do any intellectually-challenging or important activities after I've eaten lunch, but I'm not sure if that's actually necessary.
2. I feel much lighter. This lightness/slimness isn't actually reflected in how my clothes fit or what's reflected on the scale (I've lost about 2lbs, not really enough to warrant this feeling), but I never experience that boated, full feeling, even when I've actually eaten quite a bit. My body *appears to me* more fit and trim, which is an interesting observation. Is it my body/mind trying to tell me "hey, you're small, you need to eat more?" Not sure.
3. Emotionally I see no difference. I'm no more frantic, anxious, impatient, or depressed while fasting than while eating.
4. I feel much better when I drink my black, plain coffee first-thing in the morning. The flavor seems to satisfy my need for nourishment, and it calms my spirit.
5. I seem to be needing less sleep and have more energy. I can't actually know if this is true or if it's just my perception, but I've been waking up more "ready for the day" than I remember feeling before.
Stay tuned for observations in Month #2!!!
